There used to be thriving pub trade in Birmingham, certainly in the City Centre. It all came to a screeching standstill on the 21st November 1974.
Two pubs were blown up by The IRA. The Mulberry Bush and The Tavern in the town. Birmingham city pubs never recovered.

There are very few pubs in Brum now mate, if it wasn't for the pubs that serve food there would be very many less.

Yes money is short, Supermarkets are cheaper, beer in pubs is dearer, extending pub hours didn't help they all need a lot more staff.
