Brits living abroad are just as bad. Not many bother to learn the language of their chosen country. Partly due to the widespread use of English but mostly due to laziness.

Up to a point I agree but brits are generally lucky, many venture abroad on holiday but most of us couldn't learn the language of every country we visit. Foreigners coming here on holiday are lucky. Most of our hotels are staffed by foreign nationals.

I was only referring to what are know as ExPats incidentally. If a brit goes to live in Spain they should have to learn Spanish and pass an exam. Tourism would be dead if the same applied to holiday makers.
