You ask about the corn law reference. I seem not to have saved my references on this subject, but the attached cutting from Birm Journal 11.3.1843 shows James Green as secretary at a meeting of the anti corn law league held at the Stags Head at a time the landlady was Elizabeth Newnham and with another member of the committee a Samuel Newnham, presumably related

Samual was probably Elizabeth and Joseph's first son born 1817 but christened with 5 siblings on 14th Sept 1829 at St. Philips.
