I have printed the map, laid it over my PC screen with google showing the area. I Scaled google to match the map, then with my finger on the pub I removed the paper.
The pub was more or less exactly where we are standing in this google view.

I remember that flyover being built it was when I worked at the roebuck pub ,early 60s before that you had a policeman on traffic duty on hockley brook junction ,it was usually a bottle neck for the traffic when it was busy ,and I don't think he improved it a lot .

jo its changed so much round there now but there are still a few old landmarks left for me to investigate...i still have a pull for the area and go down quite often...i was going to say i spent the happiest days of my life round there but perhaps the most carefree days of my life would be better...

My mom was born in heaton street one of the back to back's that was in 1907 she died on june 9 1995 it would have been there 60 wedding anniversary.

Iv'e looked at that pic 'in detail ,got jan to enlarge it for me ,and a magnifying glass ,but the detail is not very good .it is very early ,and it look's like the top of the hill with key hill the turn off.
