The birthday boys parents were just showing off with how their party might be better than anyone elses.
I think they were negligent in not contacting all parents of invited children, at least 48 hours before the event, to confirm their childs intention to attend. Even then there is no binding contract. I hope the taxman will investigate their invoicing activities. The invoice no. is 1432. What else have they invoiced for? Do they keep proper records?
In any case, these idiots have no idea how inconvenient, expensive and ineffective the small claims process is, even if you have a legitimate case, which they clearly do not have.
