Poisoned Chickens Again

It seems that our Chickens are out to kill us again. What does our resident expert mikegee think of this one ?

Heard about this on telly,makes you wonder what is safe to eat ,everything seems to have something wrong with it.

Heard on t v the average life of a chicken is only 33 days ,if it's on one of these factory farms.

I often wonder how many times a year these places are inspected ,by government ,or RSPCA inspectors.

I think there is originally as much nutrition in intensively reared chickens BUT:
Many are injected with water and various salts , officially to make them more tender and tasty, but actually to increase the weight so you get less real chicken for your money.
Intensively ranged chickens undoubtably are less tasty for two reasons:
The first reason is because they are so young that they have not had the chance to develop flavour
The second reason is that their diet is very simple and bland, and does not have the "interesting" (for the birds) bugs, worms and plants.. The south sea cannibals would undoubtably have found many of today's teenagers, living on a diet of white pappy bread, hamburgers and chips, a bit tasteless compared to
the missionaries fed on roast beef, pheasant and mixed vegetables etc
