That was really rough justice ,he was just a kid really at 19 year old,but forced to grow up fast.

so sad..this is why i admire those who were able to see WW1 though to the end but i can understand just why there were those who felt the only way out was to desert..it was a horrible war and so many came back mentally damaged and dont forgot in those days there was not the mental health system we have today to help them..they just had to get on with it...

I don't think his name should be on a memorial, they are for the ones who did their duty and gave their all, he did neither.  Just my opinion.

I totally understand our thinking on this Lynne. But who knows at 19 years of age what fear they go through. We all like to think that we would go and do our duty........as I said who know's?
