Having just aquired a Duke of Glouester train pack I thought I would see if there was anything interesting on the web about it.

The Duke of Gloucester was in a class of it's own literally. It followed the Brittania class which numbered 55. with it's 6ft 2in driving wheels it was a monster. Weighing 101tons 5cwt it was very powerful. it was followed by the Clan Class.

has anyone done this trip...my lads are in wales for a week in May and plan to do it....soon as I can I will be as well..looks great to me...

I have been on the Snowdon Railway and on most of the
narrow gauge railways in north wales my favourite is
the Ffestiniog Railway Portmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog
it runs for just over 13 miles lovely countryside
