Why is there a 'D' in the word FRIDGE but not in REFRIGERATOR.

We have had a nest of tables for years,

According to the Apple dictionary it may be a 1920s abbreviation based on the name of the manufacturer Frigidaire.

I did buy some socks there once. I was looking for cotton socks and that is what they were supposed to be. They shrank, and after two washes I threw them away

Birmingham New Street Primark is like a Cattle market.
Primark have I understand put in a bid to take hold of the Pavillions shopping centre to make it a "flagship shop".
