just my opinon but surely there cant be many who would rather see this than the impressive building that was there before it...most of you will know the building if not i will tell you...pic 2 shows what we have lost..

its enough to make me weep..taken in 1957 just before it was demolished..no need to guess where it was just realised the location is on the photo..

Lyn, I fully agree - This is more than enough to make one weep - What a beautiful building before it was demolished. All I can say is thankfully there are folk like yourself who continually take photos.

What happened in Britain between the late fifties and late 60's was appalling regarding the loss of beautiful buildings. We lost such a lot of grand architecture.

What was so special about the 50s and 60s. our council will drop a building quicker than it can put the council tax up to pay for it.

another of our greatest losses was the woodman pub easy row...demolished 1964 to make way for paradise circus..the exterior.. interior and the paintings on tiles were something to die for...the council should hang their heads in shame but of course they wont...

There are houses not far from me, there is not a brick in them above the first floor level,it's all plaster board breeze block and thin tiles,they put them up faster than I can put a tent up .LOL

In telford there is a part called lawley in the past few years they have built 1 thousand new houses,half of them are standing empty ,people can't get mortgages and the council can't afford to buy them ,to rent them out. It's ridiclous, when people are crying out for decent homes.
