I remember our Moms favorite at Christmas was a bottle of Warniks Advocaat, she loved it. I used to enjoy a nice glass of Port and brandy.

When Mom had a drink most other times she really enjoyed a Mackeson. Extremely sweet as I remember.

Evening Lynne When I was a Barman I must have made Thousands of Snowballs. (Not the bottled sort) A drop of Lime cordial, A measure of Advocaat top up with lemonade, add a Marachino Cherry.
up to the sixites and seventies there were very few drinks for the ladies, we had of course Babycham, Cherry B, Wicked Lady, in the beers we had Light ale, M&B Export, Mackeson, Guinness (yes the older ladies drank Guinness).
There was of course the spirits with the usual mixers and Martini/Cinzano etc. In our pub we sold very little wines in those days. The closest most people got to a Cocktail was a Shandy.

Hi Lynne I was surprised to see Babycham and Cherry B still for sale recently and believe it or not it was in Iceland.
