I have to say Dennis i didn't know Gooch street at all. One pub I used in the sixties though was I think called king George fifth on The Parade at the bottom of Camden Street.

Its hard to explain nowadays, as everything has changed. Gooch St runs from Sherlock St up to Highgate. Not forgetting in the early days all this area was highly populated with back to back houses

Well Mitz I have some good news and bad news
Good news ive eventually found your pub The Vine Inn, in the Islington area of Birmingham
Bad news is you will have to wait a little longer for me to sort out this scanner. When I have I will post it and many more of Birmingham's old pubs
Shard End boy
Heh heh, no problem.
Actually, if you go in the Vine there are a lot of pictures of old pubs on the wall in the corridor that runs up to the toilets

I used to go to the Tavern in The Town quite regularly in the 70's.
One week we went on holiday to Malta, and whilst we were away ..... well ..... as they say, the rest is history
