I used to work in camden St. Just around the corner from spring Hill in the 60s, I remember a chap spent a long time in a barrel at the top of a pole outside the skating rink.

Would you believe that he was a very distant relative of mine. By marriage I hasten to add not blood.
Phil why would I find it hard to believe that a relative of yours had an association with a Barrel.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Tks, Lyn, Mikegee & Phil for all those photos, I thought I knew the area well but its seems there have been a few changes, Lyn that one on the corner of Ford street is a classic, had you noticed the Blue Police Box on the corner but not on Mikegee's one?.
Tks again, Norman

Another little memory from your youth.
Tks Phil, That pub is one I will never forget, only used it once to meet a couple of school pals when I came home on leave, have past it when I was checking the district out after it had been rebuilt many years ago, not sure if it is still there.

Norman,
As far as I can tell there is nothing on Clissold Street now more than about 35 years old. In fact this photo is where the Lamb Tavern once stood.
Phil,
I am so sorry, I have just gone through the H.S.H & B site and spotted the last photo you put on re the Lamb Pub. Like all things in Brum. everything disappears, that pub had many memories for me, so sorry it has gone.
My apologies again for the oversight.

The one with the church definitely is, with the camera about at the position of the arrow on the c 1889 map, but the map shows that there is no way that the other map could be, as there are 12 houses on the left in the photo (as on the photo), but houses across the bottom, where the church grounds would be if it were St Georges Place. The c1951 map shows similar houses.
