same here jo..im the eldest of 6 but mom was always there...count myself very lucky that i had a lovely childhood i know that so many were not so lucky...think we were talking about dripping on toast a few days back..on monday i went to the butchers and bought some...

On telly before christmas a chef said it use to have proper mince in them in victorian times they were more of a savoury ,but over the years it has changed to more of a sweet,thats all Iknow about it.

Anyone remember the wimpy bars you could go in get a burger and a coffee use to be a meeting place for young people,then Mc donalds moved in and pushed them out .Also in villa road handsworth use to be a ice cream parlour called the polar bear, who remembers that,I was only a kid then,thats going back a bit.
