Anyone remember when you were young and mom would make a blancmange and after she had poured it into the bowl she would give you the saucepan to dip your finger in lovely.

oh yes i remember that very well dennis..usually pink blancmange and if we were lucky we would have tinned fruit with it...smashing..

not unusual SB all part of life back in the day..i used to love salad cream sarnies and my brother liked red sauce sarnies lol..
While rationing was still on after the war we hardly had any sweets at all, so mom use to buy cocoa powder,cut the corner of a paper bag put a little bit of cocoa and a bit of sugar if she could spare it ,stir it up lick your finger and dip, it was lovely.
