I see no wrong in these proposals, if you want to live in this country you should be able to prove that you can afford to keep any family that you want to bring in. These restrictions should in fact have been brought in years ago. There are countries in this world that you cannot go to for even an extended holiday unless you have proof that you can afford to maintain yourself whilst there.

I would raise one point though. it's interesting to see just how much the government says you need to maintain yourself and your family if you are an immigrant when you compare how much they are prepared to pay out to a family resident in this country in benefits.
