Saw this on central news ,the lock has'nt worked properly for at least 5 years,the block of flats is owned by brum council ,that is what one tenant was saying

Druids Heath is a run down area the council dont do nothing to improve it and now its cost the lives of those babies

Its a pity the Ambulance crew didn't call the Fire Service, they can get in anywhere.

I presume she dialled 999 for the ambulance. Down here (and I would have thought it was standard practice everywhere), they always emphasise being ready for them and opening the door if necessary, which would give her the opportunity to say she couldn't get to it. Then they could have had the fire brigade attend as well. Of course she could have been cut off or something before telling them
